Editing and changing an image from its original state is something that photographers having been doing since its inception. You can do this now using editing software such as Photoshop or even using apps including Instagram and SnapChat.
Rankin...
The best collaborations are about exchanges of ideas. British portrait and fashion photographer Rankin asked famous muscianians to work with him to direct just such a collaboration. 'Destroy Rankin' features over 70 celebrated recording artists who have 'destroyed' Rankin's iconic photographs of themselves to create new peices of artwork in support of Youth Music - the UK's leading music charity for young people. The images question the way those featured actually see themselves.

- Research the ‘RANKIN – DESTROY’ project, and create an artist study including image analysis.
- Experiment with a range of post shoot image manipulation techniques, to deconstruct and reconstruct portraits using some of his orginal work.
- Plan your own photo shoot, shoot between 20-30 portraits.
- Annotate, select and edit your most successful shots, and present 6 as final pieces.
- Evaluate the success of your work, comparing it with the work of Rankin, and explaining how your ideas developed as a result of studying his work.
- Research Rosanna Jones or another photographer including image analysis.
- Based on what you learnt from your Rankin work
- Plan your own photo shoot, and shoot between 20-30 portraits.
- Annotate, select and edit your most successful shots, and present 6 as final pieces.
- Evaluate the success of your work, comparing it with the work of your chosen artist, and explaining how your ideas developed as a result of studying their work.
